There's no better place to watch the sun rise and set, or watch the fireworks than by the water! The Intracoastal Waterway and the St. Johns River are great for taking out your boat and spending the day relaxing. Jacksonville hosts the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament with world class fishing and prizes.
The Players Championship, considered by Professional Golfers to be the 5th Major tournament in Golf, is played in Ponte Vedra Beach; while the World Golf Hall of Fame, which is located in the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, are just a drive and a putt South of Jacksonville. Are you ready for some Football?!?!?!? The Jacksonville Jaguars are our Team in Teal! Spend the day Teal-gating by the beautiful St. Johns River in Alltel Stadium. Jacksonville is also host to the Florida-Georgia College Football game, as well as the Gator Bowl on New Year's Eve.
Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach are just North of Jacksonville, along with Yulee, Callahan and Hilliard. Experience the thrill of the Fernandina Beach Shrimp Festival when the Pirates come ashore for the parade and the Arts & Crafts fair. There is also the Nassau County Fair, the Clay County Fair and the Jacksonville Fair where you can ride the rides, see the clowns, hear top singing artists and bands, and visit all the animals when each hosts it’s own Fair fun.
If you like to feel breeze while you ride, get on your Motorcycle and head south of Jacksonville on down to Daytona Beach in the Spring for Bike Week, and then in the Fall for Octoberfest.
Do you love listening to Jazz? The Jacksonville Jazz Festival entertains us around Memorial Day for a weekend of some of the finest jazz ever. Bring your blankets and chairs and listen all day and into the evening while sitting in the sun and then under the stars. Come by car or boat and enjoy some great music!
